the Providence are joined by Captain Peter Koester of the U.S.S. Dauntless, the only known Starfleet officer
to have been captured by and to escape from the Kairn, as a special advisor. Adams learns from Koester, who has knowledge
of the submarine U.S.S. Providence's role during the Eugenics War, that history has a way of repeating itself.
